“Yesterdaily of a Chef” themed interview held at EUL
European University of Lefke (EUL) School of Tourism and Hotel Management Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts organized an interview themed “Yesterdaily of a Chef”. The author of the novel “Yesterdaily of a Chef” and the Coordinator of Big Chefs Restaurants Chef Murat Aslan attended the interview as a speaker.
Aslan: I do not accept the term “Best Chef”
In the interview which attracted intense participation, Aslan talked about his life starting from his middle-school years until his current position in the profession and he also directed interesting question to the students of Gastronomy. Giving information about his novel, Aslan said that, “Dear friends, I started living in the past and I’ve made it until today. My intention in writing my book titled “Yesterdaily of a Chef” was to remember my past and lead the way if I could”. Pointing out that he does not accept the term “Best Chef”, Aslan said that “Because, if I say that I am the best Chef while learning new techniques and new information every day, this would be a disgraceful act towards my profession and colleagues”.
Aslan: If you take pleasure from this profession, you would never get bored.
Aslan who lived pleasured moments with the answers he received said that “I have conducted 42 interviews with this interview, but for the first time I hear these answers, I am really interested in creative personalities”. Academicians and Heads of Tourism and Hotel Management presented the novels of Aslan, cook apron and knife set to the lucky students who won in the sweepstake activity which was held after the interview. After the sweepstake, Aslan said that “Dear friends, knife is honor. If you are willing the conduct this profession, knife will be a part of your life. If you take pleasure from this profession, you would never get bored”.
Head of Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Assist. Prof. Dr. İlker Türkeri said that “I would like to thank Chef Murat Aslan for his visit to our university. I am pretty sure that our students will shape their life in accordance with the experiences and notes that they listened today”, and presented a certificate of appreciation to Aslan.
