Workshops are organised at EUL under the name of “First aid training for everyone”
The first of the workshops on basic first aid and child health was held on 12 December 2023 in the First and Emergency Aid Laboratory of the European University of Lefke Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO), organised by the 2nd year students of the First and Emergency Aid Department with the principle of “first aid training for everyone”.
Students of the department of Preschool Teaching were given information about common conditions in children and situations requiring first aid
On the day, where the 1st year students of the Department of Preschool Education and Child Development participated, paramedic students opened stands and gave information to the participants about the situations that are common in preschool children and require first aid. First aid applications in adults, children and infants, first aid in foreign body obstruction, first aid in bleeding and sprains, first aid in sprains, blood pressure measurements, first aid to the patient with seizures were visited by the participants in groups and accompanied by a 2nd year first and emergency aid student as a guide. At each stand, theoretical information on the subject was first presented and its importance was emphasised. Afterwards, the participants performed applications such as performing heart massage, measuring blood pressure, and stabilising the patient with seizures on the models.
The workshop took place under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Semra Aslay, one of the faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education, Head of the Department of Basic Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Çağda Kıvanç Çağanağa also attended and received information.
