The “TRNC Informatics Days” event, hosted by the European University of Lefke (EUL), was organized in collaboration with the Information Technologies and Communication Institution (BTHK) and the Turkish Informatics Association (TBD). Öztürk: “Those who create distinction in their profession are always preferred”
In his speech, EUL Board of Trustees Chairman and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Enver Öztürk emphasized that technology is now the driving force of the world. While digital transformation and technology are undeniably important, he stressed that other professions hold equal significance.
Öztürk highlighted that although a foundation to support digital transformation and artificial intelligence can be established, education in all scientific fields remains essential. He underscored that creating awareness and distinction in one’s field is key, regardless of the chosen profession.
He further noted that professionals who stand out in their field are always in demand and that while every profession has its own value, the most crucial aspect is personal development. Stressing the importance of hard work, he stated, “You need to work very hard. But you also need to participate in social activities. Life should be lived without missing out on it.”
Ademgil: “Digital Transformation and Technology should not be viewed as a cost”
EUL Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ademgil expressed the university’s satisfaction in hosting the event. He noted that advancements in technology simplify life and accelerate services, emphasizing that digital transformation and technology should not be perceived as a financial burden but rather as an investment in the future.
Ademgil pointed out that such investments yield returns in a very short period. Addressing students, he also highlighted the importance of responsible technology use, stating, “You must advance without losing your creativity, innovative ideas, entrepreneurial spirit, and ethical values.”
Tiryakioğlu: “Our goal is to understand how Technology can help create a more livable world”
