The second first aid training was held at EUL
The second of the workshops organised with the principle of “first aid training for everyone” was held for the 4th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry.
In the workshop held in the First and Emergency Aid Laboratory of the Vocational School of Health Services, basic medical practices other than first aid were included since the participants were physician candidates. Under the supervision of Faculty of Medicine Faculty Member Asst. Prof. Dr. Semra Aslay, 2nd year students of the Department of First and Emergency Aid staged scenarios of situations requiring first aid that dentist candidates may encounter frequently in the rest of their professional lives. For each emergency situation represented, the participants were informed beforehand. During the scenario practice, it was shown what a first-aider should do.
During the workshop, the participants experienced performing heart massage, removing a foreign body from a baby, measuring blood pressure, stabilising a patient with seizures, opening an IV line, and giving intramuscular injections.
