The oath ceremony was held for EUL Faculty of Dentistry graduates
A professional oath ceremony was held for the European University of Lefke (EUL) graduates 2023–2024 Academic Year Faculty of Dentistry.
Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ademgil, faculty members, and parents of the students attended the ceremony organised by the Faculty of Dentistry. The oath ceremony, where the graduates took their first steps into the profession, started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by opening speeches.
Delivering the opening speech of the oath ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Pervin İmirzalıoğlu, stated that the EUL Faculty of Dentistry, which has become an increasingly preferred educational institution, is proud to give its second graduates this academic year. Expressing her gratitude to the valuable faculty members who trained these valuable physicians with knowledge and devotion, İmirzalıoğlu congratulated the graduates’ families.
Prof. Dr. İmirzalıoğlu addressed the graduates with the words of the Great Leader Atatürk, ‘The most true guide for everything in the world, for civilisation, for life, and success in science, is science’ and stated the following: ‘In the information and communication age we are in, you should be physicians who follow, apply and even contribute to the rapidly increasing and changing professional knowledge and technologies, developments and changes. You should be physicians who evaluate evidence and research-based results. You should be physicians who adopt the principle of not harming the patient before treatment and putting ethical values at the forefront. You should give importance to preventive oral and dental health services. At the same time, you should lead the society as honest individuals with communication and leadership qualities who make their decisions freely. I believe that each of you has these qualities and ethical values” and concluded his words as “I sincerely congratulate you on this special day, may your path always be clear”.
Nursema Gür, the valedictorian of the faculty, also made a speech at the ceremony and stated, ‘I am very excited for this moment that I have been dreaming of for years. As a physician, I would like to help people and use my art and aesthetic vision in my work. I would like to thank all our academicians for the qualified and well-equipped education we received throughout our educational life.’ After the speech, Gür nailed the nameplate to the graduation log, accompanied by the dean.
In the ceremony programme, which continued with the faculty academicians putting on the white coats of all graduates, the graduates of Dentistry took their first steps into their professional lives by taking their oaths accompanied by Dean İmirzalıoğlu.
