A conference on ‘The Dark Side of Artificial Intelligence and Its Effects on Digital Organisations’ was organised by the European University of Lefke (EUL), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Prof. Dr. Hakkı Okan Yeloğlu, faculty member of Başkent University, Department of Technology and Information Management, attended the conference as a speaker.
The impacts of artificial intelligence on organisations and digital transformation process were discussed
In the conference held at EUL Cinema Hall, issues such as the impacts of artificial intelligence on organisations, the digital transformation process, challenges, and applications of digital organisations were discussed. EUL Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences faculty members and students showed great interest in the conference, and the subject of artificial intelligence was examined in depth with mutual questions and answers. In his speech, Yeloğlu underlined the dark side of artificial intelligence and emphasised that especially digital organisations have increased their popularity today thanks to technologies such as artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, data scraping, and souffle engineering, and yet this progress has created a dark side in itself.
At the end of the speech, Yeloğlu’s responses to the questions pointed out that artificial intelligence in digital organisations is actually important in terms of efficiency and quality, and it was agreed that the correct use of artificial intelligence will provide a controlled benefit to organisations. Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Ekemen, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, presented the certificate of appreciation to the speaker Prof. Dr. Hakkı Okan Yeloğlu together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Bayram, Head of the Department of Business Administration, and thanked him for sharing his vision-enhancing and horizon-opening knowledge especially for the students.
