The 31st Graduation Ceremony of EUL Was Held
EUL celebrated the joy of diploma
European University of Lefke (EUL) 2023–2024 Academic Year graduates received their diplomas with a magnificent ceremony held on June 13, 2024. The ceremony started at 19:00 at Lefke 16 August Liberation Stadium with the graduates taking their seats, a moment of silence, the National Anthem, and opening speeches.
EUL graduation evening was held with intense participation
Minister of Transport and Public Works Erhan Arıklı, YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, MPs, and other honoured guests attended the ceremony. EUL provided 1752 graduates from associate, undergraduate, and graduate programmes this year.
Arıklı: EUL is indeed of great importance for me.
In the speech he delivered at the ceremony, Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı said, “EUL is indeed of great importance for me. EUL is currently the most successful university in the TRNC, a university where peace, tranquilly prevail with no problems. There are many more things that EUL will bring to the TRNC. I congratulate the EUL Administration, Rector and staff of EUL for the successful work of EUL” and addressed the students. Arıklı added, “Dear students, today you are starting a new life. The experiences you will gain at this university, the self-confidence and the diploma you have obtained will be a great support for you in your life and I am sure that you will solve the problems you will encounter in your future life with the same success as you have successfully graduated from EUL and you will build a new life for yourself. I would like to thank you and your families for choosing EUL.”
Hocanın: The higher education field of the TRNC has become very successful with the contribution of good universities for nearly 40 years
In his speech at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Chairman of the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation, and Coordination Board, stated: “I am extremely pleased to be here. The higher education field of the TRNC has been very successful with the contribution of good universities for nearly 40 years. It has made significant progress in terms of quality and research in education. Consequently, all universities, academic staff, and us, as the supervisory organisation, have duties in order for our field of higher education to go even further. We will continue to carry out the necessary work to fulfil these duties properly” and wished the graduates success in their new lives.
Öztürk: I am very honoured and proud of my duty at EUL
Enver Öztürk, Chairman of the EUL Board of Trustees, stated that he has been in office at EUL for 3 and a half years and that he has performed many duties in his life, but he considers the period he is spending at EUL above all his duties and expressed his great honour and pride. Öztürk addressed the graduates and continued: “As you embark on life from this distinguished university, I am sure that you will be saying that you are glad that you have been educated at the European University of Lefke in the future, and we send you all off with the hope of doing things that will make you happy in your new journey in your new life. May your path be bright. May you all be our honorary representatives.”
Yükselen: EUL has become the most highly trusted university in the TRNC in recent years
EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen stated in his speech: “With the awareness that the investment in young people, to whom we will entrust the future of our countries and all of us, is the most important investment, we are adding the 31st term graduates this year to our more than 23000 qualified graduates from 75 different countries that we have been graduating so far. I would like to express my gratitude to you, our esteemed guests, for being with us and sharing our happiness on this day full of joy and pride.”
Prof. Dr. Yükselen stated that EUL has stood out as one of the most trusted universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in recent years as a result of the successful strategies implemented for realistic and accurate goals, and added: “I firmly believe that as an EUL graduate, you will start this journey with great ideals, setting great goals, and that you will achieve significant success for yourself, your family, and your society.”
Graduates expressed their gratitude to the EUL family
İnci Yüzgülen and Ifeoluwa Ifeon Adebowale, who spoke on behalf of the graduates, expressed their pride in being from EUL and thanked their academicians and families for their support throughout their education life.
Following the speeches, the ceremony programme continued with the presentation of diplomas and awards by the guests of honour to the students who showed outstanding achievement, followed by the cap throwing and fireworks show, which the students had been eagerly waiting for throughout their education life. The ceremony ended with a cocktail in honour of parents and graduating students.
