The 30th Graduation Ceremony of EUL Held
EUL graduation ceremony was held with enthusiasm
European University of Lefke (EUL) 2022-2023 Academic Year graduates received their diplomas with a magnificent ceremony held on 7 July 2023. The ceremony started with the graduates taking their seats at Lefke 16 August Liberation Stadium at 19:00, a moment of silence, the National Anthem and opening speeches.
EUL graduation night took place with intense protocol participation
Ersin Tatar, TRNC President, Zorlu Töre, President of the TRNC Parliament, Ziya Öztürkler, TRNC Minister of Interior, Nazım Çavuşoğlu, TRNC Minister of National Education, Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı, President of YÖDAK, MPs and other honoured guests attended the ceremony. EUL has graduated over 1500 students from associate, undergraduate and graduate programmes this year. The ceremony started with a minute of silence in honour of the Great Leader Atatürk and the martyrs and continued with speeches.
Tatar: EUL continues on its way with success
In his speech at the ceremony, President Ersin Tatar stated that EUL continues its successful path despite the pandemic and all the troubles, and added that a great success was achieved with the 30th graduation.
President Tatar emphasised that while students from different countries are sent to work life with universal contemporary values at EUL, they also take the deep culture and human values here to their countries, and noted that this has a great meaning.
Tatar also addressed the students and said that they should work to serve their country and humanity with the values and education they receive.
Tatar underlined that the TRNC will continue to struggle on the bright path of Atatürk for its stability and future despite all the injustices, and expressed his belief that the graduates will contribute to the development of the countries with peace and tranquillity despite the various negativities in the world.
Töre: EUL graduates will be honorary ambassadors of the TRNC
Zorlu Töre, the President of the TRNC Parliament, stated that the graduates will be honorary ambassadors of the TRNC wherever they go and that even though the TRNC is under embargo, it will continue to progress and rise, and that the TRNC will be protected.
Çavusoglu wished EUL graduates to contribute to world peace
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu emphasised that the graduating students learnt freedom of expression, freedom of belief and tolerance, which are more valuable than a diploma in our country, and wished the graduates to carry these values to the countries they go to and contribute to world peace.
Avcı congratulated the students and parents who experienced a night of pride
The President of YÖDAK Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı pointed out that their duty as YÖDAK is to pave the way for universities that are on the way to becoming a world university, and emphasised that this year’s graduates are graduates who have received education under the most difficult conditions of the century. Mr. Avcı congratulated the successful students and their parents who had a night of pride despite these difficult conditions, and thanked the academicians who raised graduates who could compete with the world.
Yükselen: EUL is the most growing and preferred university in recent years
EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen noted that they are happy to add new graduates to the qualified graduates of EUL and said that they have given over 1500 graduates from 42 different countries in the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
Prof. Dr. Yükselen emphasised that EUL, one of the oldest universities in the TRNC, does not compromise on quality in education and pointed out that EUL has become the most growing and preferred university in recent years with the realistic and correct strategies implemented.
Graduates expressed their gratitude to the EUL family
Merve Üstüntaş, who spoke on behalf of the graduates, and Wapozga Munyenyembe, who spoke on behalf of the foreign graduates, expressed their pride in being a graduate of EUL and thanked their academicians and families who supported them throughout their education life.
After the speeches, the ceremony continued with the distribution of diplomas and awards to the faculty winners by the guests of honour, followed by the cap throwing and fireworks show, which the students had been eagerly waiting throughout their education life. The ceremony ended with a cocktail in honour of parents and graduating students.
