Nature Awareness Project held at EUL
Wastes were photographed and exhibited with an artistic point of view
European University of Lefke (EUL) Office of Students’ Dean Social Services Club organized an awareness raising photograph exhibition themed “Don’t turn a blind eye to what you do to the nature” under the scope of Social Services with the Society course.
Bayır: The awareness project was prepared with the aim of developing student’s positive attitude towards the nature
Giving information about the project Bayır said that in the awareness project prepared with the aim of creating awareness for the students and developing positive attitudes towards the environment in order to maintain a sustainable life and the riches of nature, wastes were photographed and exhibited with an artistic point of view.
Bayır: Social Work should contribute not only to people but also to the environment, which includes living and non-living things
Bayır said that “The International Social Service Federation’s environmental policy recognizes that the world’s natural resources are limited and threatened” and added that due to the occupational ethics, the profession of Social Works does not remain silent nor avoid practice in matters related to natural environment in national and international social service policies and practices. Bayır also stated that the profession of Social Works should contribute not only to people but also to the environment, which includes living and non-living things.
In the exhibition which attracted the interests of both students and instructors, the thoughts of the participants were taken in to consideration and they stated that they would like to clean the places reflected in the photos. Bayır stated that due to intense demand, the project will continue with a waste collection event with the “grab your gloves and come here!”.
