A conference on “Expertise in our Legal System” was organized by European University of Lefke (EUL) Law Faculty.

The first session of the conference, held in EUL Law School Grand Amphitry Conference Hall, was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tayfun Akgüner. During the conference, the following presentations were made: Retired TRNC Supreme Court President Şafak Öneri “Expert Authority in TRNC Law”, Okan University Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Pervin Somer “Expert in Health Practice”, Başkent University Lecturer of Law and Supreme Court 9. HD Honorary President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kılıçoğlu “Expert in Compulsory Law Practice” and Professor of Law, Ankara University. Dr. Sema Taşpınar Ayvaz “Expert in the Application of the Civil Court”.

Ankara University Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Sema Taşpınar Ayvaz was the chairperson of the II. session  as the following presentations were made at the session: Professor of Istanbul University, Çapa Faculty of Medicine Dr. Nevzat Alkan “Expert in Forensic Medicine Practice”, Digital Forensics Servives (DİFOSE) Judicial Informatics Security Company Officer Şükrü Durmaz “Expert in the Application of Informatics Law” and finally European University of Lefke Faculty of Law Lecturer Assist. Prof.  Dr. Yavuz Erdoğan “Expert in the Application of Criminal Proceedings”.

By discussing the definition of the concept of expertise, emphasis was placed on the misunderstanding of expertise and the lack of knowledge. The concept of expertise was discussed by considering health, political, legal and current problems.

During the conference, the speakers emphasized the importance of knowing how to do the expertise profession, emphasizing the importance of knowing in the international field, and the opinion of the judiciary that the expertise on criminal justice should be up-to-date. Speakers who gave detailed answers to the questions of the students contributed to the consolidation of the concept of expertise by the students.

At the end of the conference, Professor of Law at EUL Faculty of Law. Dr. Nuri Erişgin presented a plaque and participation certificate to the speakers.
