EUL students were informed about psychosocial support and life after the earthquake
European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Arts and Sciences organized an Information Meeting on the Disaster of the Century, February 6 Earthquake and its Aftermath.
Students affected by the earthquake disaster were informed about psychological first aid, psychosocial support and life after the earthquake by the lecturers of the Department of Psychology.
In the information meeting held at the Faculty of Law Conference Hall, information was given on how students can access the services to be provided by the faculty members of the Department of Psychology in order to receive psychosocial support for students affected by the earthquake.
In the meeting, EUL Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Zihniye Okray gave information about the psychological, behavioral, cognitive, and social symptoms that may occur in disaster victims after disasters. Subsequently, with the support and supervision of the lecturers of the Department of Psychology, information on how to access the services provided by the EUL Student Development and Psychological Counseling Unit for disaster victims was shared.
At the end of the meeting, feedback was received from the students and it was reported that such meetings will continue in the coming days in line with the prominent needs of the students.
