EUL Students set an Example
EUL students supported the project of “arranging the children’s room of Cengiz Topel Hospital”
With the leadership of their advisor Assist. Prof. Dr. Sultan Şehitoğlu Okumuşoğlu, European University of Lefke (EUL) Phycology Club students organized a fair with the aim of arrangement of the children’s room of Cengiz Topel Hospital in cooperation with Güzelyurt Yeşilada Lions Club.
Giving information about the fair that took place at EUL Plaza, Okumuşoğlu said that all the money gathered in the fair which was organized in cooperation with Güzelyurt Yeşilada Lions Club, was donated to the pediatric department of Cengiz Topel Hospital for the arrangement of the children’s room. Okumuşoğlu said that, by doing so, children who have to stay in hospital for days because of their illness will be able to meet their needs of playing in a safe and comfortable environment, and added that they believe that this would provide positive contributions to the psychology and recovery of the children. Okumuşoğlu also pointed out that, students of EUL Psychology Club are looking for what they can do for the university area and are aiming to implement similar social responsibility projects in the future.
President of EUL Phycology Club Ayşenur Ayyıldız said that, “Since children are our priority, we have worked together with the officials from Güzelyurt Yesilada Lions Club for the arrangement of the children’s room at the Cengiz Topel Hospital and donated the collected help for the hospital’s shortcomings”.
EUL academicians, staff and students contributed to the fair in which various products made by students were sold.
