EUL Students Participated in the Blood Donation Awareness Workshop held in Antalya
Student of European University of Lefke (EUL) Department of Pre-School Teaching and member of Red Crescent Yaren Karanfiloğlu and student of Department of Nursing Anıl Çağar participated in the Blood Donation Awareness Workshop themed “Blood Donation Awareness Workshop at Universities 13. Target 25” held in Antalya and represented EUL.
Project of Target 25 which brings together the youth, equips young people with the information they can use in their own lives, the creation of blood donation awareness in the society and the acquisition of blood donors in universities. As a result of the program which started with the campaign named “Universities are Donating Blood” in 2005 and still proceeds under the name of Target 25, 1242 students were trained in the workshops. Every year, a regular increase in the number of blood donations received in the campaigns was achieved.
University students from all over Turkey participated in the workshop
Karanfiloğlu and Açar who attended the workshop that aims raising awareness about blood donation by the mobilization of young people up to the age of 25 in Turkey and ensuring that they are volunteer, aware blood donators who will transfer this knowledge to the future generations, pointed out that the event was very useful for them and added that by the means of this event, they had the chance to meet with üniversity students from all over Turkey.
Çağanağa: EUL sets an example with its social service practices
Advisor academician of EUL Red Crescent Club Assist. Prof. Dr. Çağdan Kıvanç Çağanağa said that apart from bringing in an occupation to the students, EUL also sets an example with its social service practices and added that under the umbrella of the Student Deanery, the Red Crescent Club has benefits such as taking part in social activities not only in blood donation but also in developing projects for the benefit of society, and obtaining information that they can use in their own lives.
