EUL Represented in Singapore
Academician of the European University of Lefke (EUL) Department of Computer Engineering Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ezgi Deniz Ülker represented EUL with two publications at the ‘Advanced Information Science and Systems’ conference held at Nanyang University of Technology in Singapore. At the conference, current studies on artificial intelligence and information technologies from many countries were presented.
Ülker examined bacteria, fungi, yeast and mouse DNAs and found the DNA motifs of each species with the algorithm she developed.
In her published study titled “Solving the DNA Motif Problem with Clonal Selection Algorithm Developed by Tournament Selection Method”, Ezgi Deniz Ülker examined bacteria, fungi, yeast and mouse DNAs and found the DNA motifs of each species with the algorithm she developed.
With the algorithm developed, Ülker differentiated the DNA motif structures of different species from the complex DNA helix and determined their own DNA motif properties.
Ülker said that “The unique DNA motifs of each species carry their own secret information. However, due to the nature of DNA, these motifs are scattered and hidden within the spiral structure” and with the algorithm developed, she differentiated the DNA motif structures of different species from the complex DNA helix and determined their own DNA motif properties.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ezgi Deniz Ülker was selected as the best presenter by the jury decision and awarded with a certificate.
