Endeavors of EUL Psychology Students are being appreciated

Head of European University of Lefke Faculty of Science and Literature Department of Psychology Assoc. Prod. Dr. Zihniye Okray pointed out that Department of Psychology is a dynamic department that has been offering education since 2013 and gave information about the national and international congresses that the students of undergraduate and master programs attend.

Pointing out that as the members of the Psychology Department of EUL, all academicians share their knowledge and experiences with their students, Okray stated that the number of students whose studies are accepted at the national and international congresses and symposiums is increasing every year. Okray expressed that students are gaining experience with scientific and academic meetings where they have the chance to present their works in the direction of their interests.

Okray said that, in addition to the basic field courses such as social and developmental psychology, students are studying statistics, computer-applied statistics, and research methods that examine quantitative and qualitative methods in scientific research and added that by this means, they present EUL Psychology Department in the best possible way in many national and international congresses with the research abilities they have gained such as making a scientific research proposal and writing a research report individually.

Underlining that, apart from enhancing their academic knowledge, students are also making contributions to the science of Psychology with their researches, Okray stated that, in VII. CUDES (Current Debates in Social Sciences) Congress, students of Psychology Department Esra Akkuş, Melis Akalın and Helin Parlak presented their studies successfully and added that their study was published in the 16^th edition of Current Debates in Gender & Cultural Studies.

Okray gave verbal notice of Psychology Master’s Program Student Niyazi Ilık in the 2nd International EMI Entrepreneurship & Social Sciences Congress and successful presentations of Aydan Dali and Ulaş Kondalçi at the 5^th International Eurasian Educational Research Congress with the supervision of Dr. Cemaliye Direktör as an example and stated that 2^nd and 3^rd grade students of Psychology department Saliha Demir, Melis Akalın, Helin Parlak, Ertuğrul Çöp and Hasret Göger will attend the 22^nd National Psychology Students Congress and present their verbal notices. Okray also pointed out that students of Institute of Graduate Studies & Research Psychology Master’s Program Melis Şen, Hasan Buldaç, Onur Alp Topcu and A. Hazal Ünal will represent EUL Department of Psychology in the 2^nd Education Sciences and Social Sciences Symposion which will take place on 2-4 Novemver 2018. Okray finally congratulate the students for taking place in such organizations and making efforts.
