EUL II. Educational Sciences Student Congress was held with international participation
European University of Lefke (EUL) Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education organized the “II. Educational Sciences Student Congress”. The “II. Educational Sciences Student Congress”, which was held with the participation of 18 students from 18 different universities studying in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Turkey, Germany, and Azerbaijan, included 78 oral presentations, 35 poster presentations, 2 panels, and 23 seminars/workshops.
The congress continued with the opening speech of EUL Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Oğuz Serin after the minute of silence and the National Anthem. In his opening speech, Prof. Serin emphasized that societies that can adapt to technological developments developing at a dizzying pace and successfully adapt to the globalization process by preserving their cultural identities can survive, and stated that EUL Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education attaches importance to cultural transfer and active learning methods, and that EUL Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education provides education to prospective teachers with the awareness that they will play an important role in raising the generations that will shape the future of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Republic of Turkey, and that they will be the lifeblood of our education and training life and the architects of the future society. At the end of his speech, Serin said, “I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, moderators and panelists, academic and administrative staff who contributed to the congress, and our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, who always encouraged us and supported us in becoming the most dynamic faculty of education in the island with its qualified academic staff, increasing number of students, and quality.”
After the opening speech, the “Being a Teacher” panel moderated by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Güneyli was held. Prof. Dr. Osman Cankoy, Cengiz Topel Uzun, Director of the General Secondary Education Department of the TRNC Ministry of National Education, and Murad Aktuğ,
Director of the Department of Education and Instruction of the Ministry of National Education, participated in the panel. In the afternoon session, in the panel titled “Teaching Practice from Different Perspectives” moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Çağda Kıvanç Çağanağa, experience sharing on teaching practice was held. TRNC Ministry of National Education practice school teachers Esma İneci, Fikriye Yıldız, Meryem Yurdaer and Neşe Ertok participated in the panel and shared their experiences with prospective teachers.
