EUL has been represented at 16th International Forum on Public Administration
Academician of European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Public Administarion Assist. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Mert Karcı represented EUL at 16th International Forum on Public Administration (KAYFOR 16).
Public Administration form which has been organized in Turkey as an important event in the field of science for 16 years was hosted by Kayseri Nuh Naci Yazgan University this year. Karcı attended the Forum, which was gathered under the main theme of ”Public Administration Education with an notice titled “Comparison of State and Foundation Universities in the Context of Public Administration Education”.
In his study, Karcı investigated the effect of institutional differences on public administration education.
Karcı said that in his study which aims examine the approaches of public and private universities to public administration education and to reveal meaningful differences in their structuring he had investigated the effect of institutional differences on public administration education. Karcı stated that state and foundation universities operate within the same legal regulations, with a small number of legal differences, but the personnel legislation is differentiated, however, there are various differences in terms of organization in practice.
Karcı compared the public administration departments of state and foundation universities according to various numerical data.
Karcı, in his notice, first described the general differences of state and foundation universities in the context of legislation and practice, and then included comparisons in the context of public administration education. Karcı said that he limited the comparison to various dimensions, and listed the dimensions as; section name; the name of the college, faculty and institute; the department and the form of organization. Karcı compared the public administration departments of state and foundation universities according to various numerical and in this context, he evaluated the number of units, quantitative and qualitative view of syllabus and quantitative view of academic staff.
Karcı further stated that public administration education structures and processes are differentiated in state and foundation universities, and in general in the faculties of economic and administrative sciences and the faculties of political sciences in general, public administration education units take place in line with the supply of advanced teaching staff and added that the fact that educational units in the field of public administration are included in the foundation universities stem from various factors.
