The “Pharmaceutical Industry and Pharmacy Education: R&D Processes in the Pharmaceutical Industry” symposium was organized by the European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Pharmacy with the participation of Ali Raif Pharmaceutical Industry, one of the well-established companies in the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry. Within the framework of the symposium program, the ‘White Coat’ ceremony of the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy took place.

The opening speeches of the symposium were made by EUL Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Rümeysa Demirdamar and the President of the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Pharm. Umut Öksüz. At the conference, besides the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the European University of Lefke, academicians and students from other pharmacy faculties of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus came together and exchanged verbal and visual information on the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy education and R&D processes in the pharmaceutical industry.

In his speech on the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy education, Prof. Dr. Serdar Ünlü conveyed the expectations of the sector from pharmacy education, the equipment of newly graduated pharmacists, and the areas where they can work. Filiz Demir; He gave information about generic product development steps and processes in the pharmaceutical industry. On the second day of the symposium, an interactive symposium was held with the contribution of videos in which students’ questions were answered and how productions and analyzes were made in the sector.
