EUL Faculty of Education students realised 92 projects
European University of Lefke (EUL) Turkish Language Teaching, Classroom Teaching, Preschool Teaching, Primary Mathematics Teaching and Guidance and Psychological Counselling department students carried out a series of activities under the leadership of faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Figen Yaman Lesinger within the scope of the ‘Community Service Practices’ course. As part of the activities, students made detailed presentations on social responsibility projects.
Students carried out community service practices
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Figen Yaman Lesinger made the following statement about the activity and the scope of the course; Students have learned that they can analyse society in the most detailed way after detailed training on Community Analysis, Social Responsibility and Ethics, Change, and Development in Society, Community participation, and Leadership. While the community service practice course usually aims to enable students to do practical work in the community, develop sensitivity to social problems, and produce solutions, such courses are usually supported by theoretical course materials, field studies, internships or community service projects. Lesinger stated that a total of 92 projects were realised within the scope of the activities.
Some of the projects are as follows; Animal rights, food, and kennel support for stray animals, visits to nursing homes every week, recreational activities and traditional games for children with special needs, inpatient children in the paediatrics department, revision of benches, parks, and gardens by the sea in Lefke, drawing old games in many pre-school and primary school gardens in Lefke and Güzelyurt regions, face painting and recreational activities with children, tree planting.
