EUL was represented at one of the important congresses “8. International Pharmaceutical Design Congress” in the field of Medicinal Chemistry, which was organized by Bahçeşehir University.

European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Pharmacy manager Asst. Prof. Dr. Faika Başoğlu Ünal’s short oral presentation was awarded the first prize.

In the congress, where valuable speakers and participants made presentations on drug design, artificial intelligence in drug design, e-pharmacophore studies, molecular modelling and many other important topics, Faculty of Pharmacy, faculty member Asst. Prof. Dr. Faika Başoğlu Ünal represented EUL with her oral presentation titled “A new molecule that triggers cell death in hepatocellular carcinoma: in vitro study, molecular modelling and ADME studies”.

In the study which was presented in the congress as ‘Ünal’s Oral Presentation’: was awarded the best short oral presentation award by demonstrating the affinity of the candidate drug molecule, which shows anticancer activity with the activation of the RIPK1 enzyme through the necroptosis pathway in liver cancer, with a molecular modelling study.

Ünal stated that she was proud and happy that her work was deemed worthy of the first prize at the congress, which was held with the participation of valuable scientists.
