Fashion Designer and Northern Cyprus Young Businesspeople Association (GİAD) Assembly Member Açelya Uluçay attended “Creating a Fashion Brand” titled conference organized by the European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences Department of Economy.

Uluçay: I succeed the fashion brand I created in Istanbul with my personal efforts and by believing in myself

Touching upon the details of creating a fashion brand based on her experiences Uluçay emphasized that she had been educated in England before the fashion brand she created under her own name and the importance of education in brand creation. She stated that London Fashion Week, which she attended while she was in England, was an important experience for her at a young age and then she exhibited her first collection with the theme of Greek Mythology in Istanbul in 2013. Uluçay pointed out that she succeed the fashion brand she created in Istanbul with her personal efforts and by believing in herself and added that this does not require a large amount of capital, it can be achieved by wanting and working. She also said that these kinds of initiatives have a high chance of being successful and people care about different designs.

Giving information about her new designs Uluçay said that her next goal is to create connections with the designers all over the world and to create a global brand. After her presentation she pointed out that she really enjoyed the presentation and added that “It was a nice experience, I’m glad I came”. EUL students showed great interest and the conference ended after Uluçay answered the questions from the students.
