Conference held on “Teacher’s Body Language in In-school Event” at EUL
A conference on “Body Language of the Teacher in the School Event” was organized by the Children’s Practice, Research and Education Center with Special Needs (ÖÇEM) in European University of Lefke (EUL). Prof. Dr. Alemdar Yalçın participated as a speaker to the conference held in Rauf Raif Denktaş Conference Hall.
Yalçın said, “We give the name of non-verbal communication to the ability to express body movements and facial movements and emotions and thoughts in environments where speech or facial movements made to support speech in nonverbal communication is not possible or difficult to understand”, during the presentation.
Yalçın said, “Despite the fact that all kinds of emblems, signs and symbols are entered in non-verbal communication, scientists have made them a separate science field in the name of indicative science”. Yalçın emphasized; So that some nonverbal communication elements fall into the field of indicator science, but their exact limitations have not been established.
Yalçın stated that “non-verbal behaviors are very well known to all human and social science experts, especially in the face-to-face personal communication of one person, in communication with groups or masses, in the visual media and in relation to groups of groups”.
Yalçın said that “non-verbal communication takes place with silence, but the effect is great, the social situations limit the expression of verbal behaviors, the differences between individuals and groups, and the ability to change personally as a skill.”
Referring to the subject of physical attractiveness, Yalçın stated that there are more than one elements that constitute physical attractiveness, and that even only one of these elements can physically attract the person, and that he is not enough to make the person who carries a few on physical attractiveness.
Yalçın said that physical attractiveness is manifested in many points from one’s hair to walking, that it needs to be elaborated, that psychologists and social psychologists are doing a lot of research on charm and should combine them on the 7 points that make up the person’s image.
“The leader is the one who overcame a hardship”
Yalçın said, “People are afraid of changing their habits. Some of them are right. But some of them are an important obstacle for the raiser himself and his institution to renew. A good raiser successfully balances two. The master raiser changes our habits in our feet. This is hard. Not every raiser can do that. Those who can do this are the leaders. The leaders are whom change the habits of the communities and develop them”.
The conference ended with the presentation of certificate of appreciation by EUL Dr. Fazıl Küçük Education Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Oğuz Serin to Prof. Dr. Alemdar Yalçın.
