Birce Akalay who is known for her successful acting performances was a guest of EUL
Birce Akalay met with her fans at EUL
Under the framework of European University of Lefke (EUL) Spring communes, famous actress and author Birce Akalay was a guest of EUL.
Akalay: I am very glad to be at EUL, I am so glad that I came and met you
Akalay, who has been a leading actress in successful TV and cinema productions attracted great attention in the commune program of EUL. Akalay said that, “You have a very lovely campus, I am very glad to be at EUL, I am so glad that I have come and meet with you all”.
Giving information about how she started her acting life and career, Akalay said that, “I decided to study acting when I was in high school and I completed my education at Pera Fine Arts High School. Same year, I won the right to enter İstanbul University Department of Theatre Criticism and Dramaturgy but I didn’t graduate from there, instead I graduated from Conservatoire of Haliç University Department of Theatre. When I was in the first year of my education life in Haliç University, I also started my acting career”.
Akalay: People’s experiences, developed personally and memories contribute to the profession of acting a lot.
Pointing out that the profession of acting develops and becomes mature as the individual grows, Akalay said that, “There is a big difference between my current practices and the practices I started to learn 12 years ago, and I am sure that if I choose to improve myself after 10 years, it will be a huge difference. Because, people’s experiences, developed personally and memories contribute to the profession of acting a lot”.
Akalay pointed out that the difference between acting in front of camera and acting in the theater stage as the usage of sound and body, and added that these usages require different performance powers in different formats.
Akalay pointed out that she has never been in a project that she regretted and said that “Because they were all my experiences at the end of the day. Failure as well as success is something we need to experience in this journey. So I did not regret any project. In every project that I was involved, I thought to myself, I’m glad that I’ve experienced this and by this means I could always keep my next step straight”.
Akalay who answered the question addressed by the students sincerely, thanked the students for their sincere talk and questions, and EUL for their invitation.
