An exhibition for Denktaş and Küçük held at EUL
Exhibition themed “Respect to the Leaders who opened the Struggle Flag of Cyprus and carried it with Honor” held at EUL
European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Arts & Science Department of History organized an exhibition themed “Respect to the Leaders who opened the Struggle Flag of Cyprus and carried it with Honor” between the dates of 10th -15th January under the scope of events organized in the memories of the Founding President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Rauf Raif Denktas and the unforgettable leader of the Turkish Cypriot community Dr. Fazıl Küçük.
The exhibition consisted two parts
The exhibition which was held at the EUL Rauf Raif Denktaş Educational Complex consisted two parts. The first part of the exhibition themed “A man of Case and Government” included the images from Dr. Fazıl Küçük’s life and the second part themed “A Life Dedicated to the Independence Struggle of Turkish Cypriots: Rauf Raif Denktaş” included images of Rauf Raif Denktaş starting from his childhood until January 17th 2012 which is his death anniversary.
Tayhani: We will keep the memories of these two prominent statesmen and two unforgettable leaders of the Turkish Cypriots alive.
Giving information about the exhibition, Head of the EUL Department of History Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan Tayhani pointed out that Dr. Fazıl Küçük and Rauf Raif Denktaş had devoted their lives to the independence struggle of the Turkish Cypriots starting from the young ages and added that Dr. Fazıl Küçük was 25 years old when he opened the banner of the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot against the British colonial administration and Denktaş was 24 years old when he made an effective speech on a party meeting organized on 28th Decemver 1948. Tayhani also expressed his faith in the endeavors that will keep the memories of these two prominent statesmen and two unforgettable leaders of the Turkish Cypriots alive. He further whished god’s mercy and grace for these leaders on the behalf of Turkish Cypriot community and Turkish World. Tayhani also expressed that the students visited the photography exhibition with great interest.
