“Advanced Skills in Nursing and Academic Development” Workshops Held at EUL

The School of Nursing at the European University of Lefke (EUL) organized workshops titled “Advanced Skills in Nursing and Academic Development” for its students.
Prof. Dr. Meral Demiralp, Director of the School of Nursing, emphasized that advanced clinical nursing skills refer to a set of specialized competencies and knowledge that enable nurses to provide higher-level care to patients with complex medical conditions. She explained that these skills and techniques allow nurses to conduct advanced physical and psychosocial assessments, manage chronic illnesses, provide emergency and trauma care, perform Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), and engage in clinical decision-making and problem-solving processes.
Prof. Dr. Demiralp noted that the workshop served as an introduction to advanced clinical skills specific to nursing specialties, including psychosocial assessments tailored to specific fields, therapeutic play with children, and family counseling in addiction—skills that are also required in postgraduate nursing specialization training. She highlighted that the workshop successfully achieved its purpose, especially for senior students who are close to their graduation.
