Dialysis (Turkish)
The aim of the program is to train qualified technical health personnel that will provide healthcare for the patients taking dialysis treatment. They will be responsible for taking the patient to the dialysis machine in haemodialysis centres and providing a qualified health care at the end of the dialysis process. They will also be trained to inform the patient’s relatives about the dialysis process. At the end of the program they will be qualified to provide maintenance of the dialysis machine and will be trained for technical matters related to haemodialysis and peritoneum dialysis unit.
Dialysis technician takes care of the patients that are dialysis-dependent in accordance with the doctors’ instructions. The technician also follows up the patients that receive dialysis treatment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, maintains the machine and gets it ready to be used. Dialysis technician is responsible for dialysis hook up in the first degree. As it is important to do a diet when suffering from kidney-related diseases, the technician informs the patient and the patient’s relatives about the matter. Dialysis technicians can work in haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis units that are found in official or private health institutions in line with the specialist’s recommendations.
