The fundamental aim of the Pre-school Teaching Department is to train students to become qualified preschool teachers. The importance of pre-schooling of children in terms of the child’s development has now become a scientifically proven fact. It is known that the habits adopted by children who attend pre-school form the basis and foundation that will last throughout their lives. The department aims to train teachers who are aware of the importance of pre-school education and the impact it will have in the first years of their lives. The teachers are expected to learn how to use games, storytelling, and other activities to help children develop basic developmental skills, language and vocabulary, improve social skills, and learn basic science and math concepts.
Graduates of the department might find employment in public and private nursery schools, kindergartens, pre-schools, children’s clubs or other institutions dealing with pre-school education. Graduates are also able to continue graduate or post graduate studies both in their own fields or related fields.
