A Collective Labour Agreement was signed between EUL and KTAMS
A Collective Labour Agreement covering EUL staff was signed between the European University of Lefke (EUL) and the Cyprus Turkish Public Servants Union (KTAMS).
On 8 July 2024, EUL Chairman of the Board of Trustees Enver Öztürk, EUL Board of Trustees Members Nihat Çakan, Hüseyin Şener, Timuçin Pırgalıoğlu and Gökhan Saraç, EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, KTAMS President Güven Bengihan and union officials were present at the signing ceremony held at the EUL Senate Room. Enver Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the European University of Lefke and Güven Bengihan, President of KTAMS signed the contract.
In the speech made by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Enver Öztürk, he emphasised that the employees are valuable and precious to them and that all possible demands under the current conditions are fulfilled with this contract. Stating that they are happy to sign the contract today, Öztürk wished the contract to be beneficial and auspicious for all employees, the university and the region.
KTAMS President Güven Bengihan in his speech expressed that the important thing is to be able to carry out this process by understanding and empathising with each other, that EUL is an exemplary University and that the management and employees have a share in this success, and that the contract was signed within the framework of mutual trust. Bengihan thanked all the goodwill shown by the university administration and added that the result was an important achievement for the employees. Bengihan expressed his thanks to the Board of Trustees of the European University of Lefke and also to everyone who contributed to the process. Bengihan stated that EUL has made significant contributions to both the employees and the region and wished that this contract would be beneficial for all employees, the institution and the region.
