Conference on the Power of Design in Wet Spaces Held at EUL

The Faculty of Architecture at the European University of Lefke (EUL) organized a conference titled “The Power of Design in Wet Spaces.”
The event, held at the EUL Cinema Hall, featured Architect Münevver Özgür Özersay as the keynote speaker. Özersay provided architecture students with insights into wet space design, discussing modern materials and their applications in such environments. She also engaged with students in a discussion about workplace dynamics, challenges encountered in professional practice, and solutions developed within the industry.
Emphasizing the importance of wet spaces such as bathrooms and toilets in living environments, Özersay delivered a comprehensive and detailed presentation. She shared practical examples of design details for these spaces, helping students understand the common design challenges encountered in daily life.
Highlighting the significance of material selection, space design, and human ergonomics, Özersay also discussed essential design elements that should be incorporated into any space. She stressed the necessity of integrating surfaces, materials, objects, and lighting in a cohesive manner, underlining how the functionality of these seemingly simple spaces is crucial and requires meticulous design considerations.
At the end of her presentation, Özersay answered students’ questions and shared valuable professional advice based on her own experiences, providing students with practical guidance before they embark on their careers.
