A conference titled “Money, Human Development, and Growth” was held at EUL
A conference titled “Money, Human Development, and Growth” was held by the Banking and Finance Department at EUL. The conference featured Fatma Yorgancıoğlu, the Branch Manager of Türkiye İş Bankası’s Taşkınköy branch, as a guest speaker and was attended by a large group of students.
In the first part of her speech, Yorgancıoğlu discussed the history of İş Bankası since its establishment in 1925. She explained that İş Bankası was founded under the leadership of Atatürk to support the economy by providing essential financial services to individuals and businesses and facilitating trade, which paved the way for modern banking practices.
In the second part of her speech, Yorgancıoğlu talked about the evolution of money. She covered the role of bartering, metal coins, coins, and paper money in the evolution of currency. Yorgancıoğlu also discussed the importance of digital currency in today’s cashless society, highlighting its advantages such as speed, convenience, and enhanced security.
In the final part of her speech, Yorgancıoğlu focused on what needs to be done to seize financial opportunities. She emphasized the importance of taking advantage of opportunities, diversification, risk management, and financial literacy. Yorgancıoğlu also spoke about the importance of using investment tools like bonds, stocks, real estate, and portfolio management under professional guidance to develop investment strategies aimed at wealth growth. She concluded her presentation by offering investment advice to students and answering their questions.
