The European University of Lefke, Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education, organized an educational visit to the Civil Defense Organization Lefke Regional Directorate. During the visit, presentations were delivered by officials from the Civil Defense Organization Lefke Regional Directorate. In this interactive event, students were provided with information on first aid, disasters, and protective measures.

Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education shared the following information regarding the visit: “Considering that disasters, whether natural or human-induced, continue in our century with increasing severity, resulting in significant loss of life and property, a visit was organized with second-year classroom teaching students to the Civil Defense Organization Lefke Regional Directorate as part of the Disaster and Disaster Management course. It was emphasized that disasters need to be addressed seriously in today’s world and that providing teacher candidates with knowledge not only through theoretical lessons but also from field experts positively influences and solidifies their learning.”

Additionally, it was stated that the concept of disaster management aims to prevent events that could lead to disasters or mitigate their damages, which can only be achieved by integrating this concept into the education system. Faculty members expressed their gratitude to the Civil Defense Organization Lefke Regional Directorate for their training and hospitality following the visit.
