European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Pharmacy organised a seminar on ‘Being a Pharmacist’ and a ‘White Coat Wearing Ceremony’. The programme was held with the participation of Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Şermin Tetik, invited speakers; Prof. Dr. Mesut Sancar and Dr. Duygu Yazıcıoğlu, faculty members and students.

The seminar began with a speech on ‘Consultant Pharmacist Everywhere’ by Dr. Duygu Yazıcıoğlu, Group Medical Manager at TRISPERA Pharma Solutions, representing Rhythm Pharmaceuticals, which works in the field of rare diseases. This was followed by the speech of Prof. Dr. Mesut Sancar, one of the academicians of Marmara University Clinical Pharmacy Department, on ‘Transformation in Pharmacy: Rise of Clinical Pharmacy’.

After the presentations of the speakers, the ‘2023-2024 Academic Year Faculty of Pharmacy White Coat Wearing Ceremony’ started.

Firstly, the white coats of the 5th year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, who will graduate at the end of the 2023–2024 Academic Year, were put on by the invited speakers and faculty lecturers. Then, the oath-taking ceremony of the 5th grade students was held in the presence of the Vice Dean of the Faculty, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mevhibe Tamirci. After the oath ceremony, the aprons of the first year students invited to the stage in groups were put on by the 5th year students. Thus, the flag was handed over to the first year students who took their first steps to become pharmacists by the 5th year students.
