Students of EUL organised an Elderly Week event at Kalkanlı Life House
A Meaningful Visit from EUL Students
European University of Lefke (EUL) Vocational School of Health Services students visited Kalkanlı Life House in order to emphasise the value of our elderly and to show respect to them. The students, accompanied by lecturer Fahriye Çoban, listened to the life experiences of our elders and had a pleasant time with them.
The life experiences and wisdom of our elders were transferred to young generations
This event, organised on the occasion of the Week of the Elderly, aimed to contribute to raising more awareness of the concept of old age in society. In the conversations held within the scope of the event, the life experiences and wisdom of our elders were conveyed to young generations. Students had the opportunity to get to know their lives more closely and were equipped with valuable advice.
Lecturer Fahriye Çoban stated that such activities develop students’ sense of social responsibility and contribute to their development as socially sensitive individuals. She also emphasised that this respect and love shown to our elders strengthens the solidarity and human values of our society.
The importance of the Elderly Week activities reminds us that our elderly are an important part of society, and it is a human duty to respect them. While their experiences in the past guide us, the attention and love we show to our elders contribute to the healthy and happy coexistence of our society.
