EUL Faculty of Education students have raised awareness
Written visuals prepared by the students aroused great interest
An awareness stand was opened on the EUL campus by the students of the European University of Lefke (EUL), Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education, within the scope of the “Community Service Practices” course under the leadership of lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Figen Yaman Lesinger on the occasion of “March 8 International Women’s Day”.
The written visuals prepared by the students aroused great interest. On this special day for women, many visuals were prepared, including the perspective on life without gender difference, that there is no gender difference in human power, that women are valuable, the problems experienced by women today, the value given to women, the concept of women’s prejudice should be eliminated, and that women have a place in every unit of the public or private sector.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Figen Yaman Lesinger provided information specific to the day and used the following statements: “March 8 is a day when the value of women is shown all over the world and many problems are discussed on different platforms. We are aware that women are the most effective, guiding, unifying, and protective element of society. Women’s advancement is a condition of social justice, but it is not only a women’s issue. It is the only way to build a sustainable, just, and developed society and a prerequisite for achieving political, social, economic, cultural, and environmental security. For a democratic and advanced society, it is of great value that women are empowered, that their spheres of activity are expanded, and that they enjoy equal opportunities and possibilities in all fields.”
