Atatürk was commemorated with respect and longing at EUL
A commemoration programme was held at the European University of Lefke (EUL) due to the 85th anniversary of the death of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. University administration, faculty members, administrative staff and students attended the commemoration programme which was held at 09:05 in front of the Atatürk Bust on the EUL campus.
The commemoration programme started with the speech of EUL Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal on the meaning and importance of the day, followed by the laying of a wreath by Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem.
Following the commemoration programme, EUL Turkish Club members commemorated Atatürk with respect and longing with a speech by EUL Turkish Club President Engincan Kaya at the event held at EUL Cinema Hall.
