EUL’s contribution to the “Best Walnut Paste of the Year” competition
The European University of Lefke, which provides all kinds of support as a university to the events that are traditionally held in the Lefke Region and reflect the culture of the Lefke region, contributed to the 13th Walnut Festival organized this year in cooperation with the Lefke Municipality and the Lefke Tourism Association in Lefke, which has the title of Cittaslow.
In this context, EUL, which supported the “Best Walnut Paste of the Year” competition held within the framework of the Walnut Festival program, contributed to the organization organized in memory of the late Famous Chef Zihni Türksel, a Cypriot Chef and academician at the EUL Gastronomy Department, who contributed to the promotion of both the country and the region with many projects in this field.
In the competition where Mustafa Şah, Selcan Oyal, Ali Damdelen, Ali Damdelen, Selim Yeşilpınar and Sevil Türksel, the precious wife of the late Famous Chef Zihni Türksel, took part as jury members, delicious pastes that were candidates to be the Best Walnut Paste of the Year were tasted. In the competition held at the Lefke Tourism Association Building, under the leadership of EUL Gastronomy Department academician Selcan Oyal, EUL Gastronomy Department students also took part in the organization and contributed to the competition.
