Decisions from the EUL Board of Trustees for students who were affected by the earthquake
100% education scholarship will be given to all students affected by the earthquake
The Board of Trustees of the European University of Lefke (EUL) once again wished God’s mercy to the people who lost their lives due to the earthquakes described as the “disaster of the century” that hit Turkey on February 6 and wished patience to their families and a speedy recovery to the people who got injured. In the statement made by EUL, it was stated that the earthquakes that occurred in the homeland of the Republic of Turkey caused great destruction, resulted in many deaths and injuries, and left our entire nation with deep sadness. In the statement, stating that students and graduates of the European University of Lefke were among the missing, it was expressed that they were deeply saddened by all these events. EUL Administration emphasized that, in order to heal the wounds as soon as possible after this natural disaster and to stand by and support the students who were affected by the earthquake, urgent decisions were taken regarding some support practices for all students affected by the earthquake coming from the OHAL region. In this context, the Board of Trustees of the European University of Lefke has shown the necessary sensitivity so that EUL students who are in difficult conditions, coming from the OHAL region can return to our country and continue their education and it has been decided to give 100% education scholarships to all of these students in the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
There is also the right to freeze registration for free among the applications.
EUL administration expressed that another of the support applications for the students who were affected, is to transfer the tuition fees paid by the students who paid for the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester to the next semester, and that they will be given the right to freeze their registration free of charge in the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester if they request it. It is stated in the statement that the opening of course registration rights, regardless of their current financial obligations is among the decisions taken so that the students can start their education in the Spring semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year, emphasizing that the right to enrol in courses without penalty until April 14, 2023 in the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year is given to the students.
