TRNC Ministry Of Health Update (04/02/2021)
In line with the Decisions taken by the Infectious Diseases Supreme Committee under the Infectious Diseases Law on 04.02.2021, the Ministry of Health has decided to implement the following Additional Precautionary Decisions.
Our health system is about to be insufficient to meet these cases, as the number of cases in our country continues to be very high in the last week of the closure. Since the measures taken are not sufficient to prevent the transmission in our country, a consensus has been reached to increase the measures and inspections.
Considering all these, it has been deemed necessary to extend the closing period starting from 05.02.2021 at 20.00 to 15.02.2021 and to apply full closure except for essential activities.
The Decisions taken are as follows;
1. It has been decided that it would be appropriate to extend the curfew until 05:00 on February 15, 2021, to cover the whole day (except in exceptional cases). It has been deemed necessary to include the addresses of the residence / duty places of the persons in the permits in order to carry out the inspection more effectively in the permits to be taken to go out.
2. Regulations regarding the sectors that will serve in the districts will be as follows;
– Businesses serving basic needs such as gas stations, greengrocers, butchers / fishermen, markets will be able to stay open between 08:00 and 17:00.
– The bread bakeries will continue to produce except on Sundays.
– In each region, twice the number of pharmacies on duty, pharmacies will serve between 08.00-24.00.
– Open sector suppliers will serve between 17:00 and 20:00. There will be no service on Sundays.
– All businesses other than the pharmacy on duty will be closed on Sundays.
– Restaurants and takeaway services will be closed.
– Hiking and sports activities will not be done.
– TÜK’s feed and barley sales, feed and flour factories have been suspended. However, in necessary cases, it can be opened with the permission of the district security boards.
The production of the Milk Institution and milk processing plants will continue.
– Emergency breakdown services of internet service providers will continue.
– Firms providing private security services will continue to work.
– Water and beverage producers, distributors and sellers will continue to serve.
– Livestock and agriculture sectors will continue their activities.
3. In order to go to businesses that are open, those who obtain permission from the district security boards should go to the closest businesses to their residence addresses.
4. It has been decided to stop the entrances and exits between the districts. In this process, inter-district police officers, healthcare workers, elderly care centers, yellow press card holders and / or press employees, private laboratories, firefighters and civil aviation services will continue to work.
5. Electricity institutions, municipalities, chambers of commerce and industry, which are the authorization authorities in import and export, will serve with minimum personnel so that the services are not interrupted.
6. Import-export and citrus sectors and transportation services belonging to these sectors will be open.
7. Security Forces, Police, Customs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, Chamber of Industry will continue to serve with minimum personnel without interrupting the services.
8. Until February 17, 2021, it has been decided to stop face-to-face education (including classroom, study, private lessons and course activities) in public and private schools, all pre-school, primary and secondary education and to switch to online education. Considering the prevalence of the pandemic in the society and the curfew, it was decided to stop the services of private education centers. However, in the sectors that will remain open, kindergartens may be open on demand in order not to interrupt the services.
9. It has been decided for the patients residing in Northern Cyprus and receiving routine treatment / treatment in Southern Cyprus to transfer to Southern Cyprus without daily quarantine, provided that they receive permission from the Ministry of Health in order to avoid suffering and to complete their treatment. The patient and his attendant (if necessary) who will be transferring for health purposes are required to submit the negative PCR test results made within the last 3 days upon arrival. In addition, patients and companions returning to our country after the treatment should perform PCR tests again on the seventh and fourteenth days of their entry into the country and submit the results to our Ministry.
10. Within the scope of the Green Line Regulation, it has been deemed appropriate for persons engaged in contactless trade to do business without quarantine, provided that they obtain permission from the district security boards.
11. It has been deemed appropriate that ambulances pass through the Yeşilırmak Border Gate for health purposes only without quarantine application, and that other passages are subject to quarantine.
12. The passage of persons residing or working in Pile due to the curfew will be subject to the permission of the county police boards.
13. UN, EU, British Bases, Buffer Zone and Peace Corps employees will be able to enter without quarantine, provided that they submit negative PCR test results within the last 72 hours.
14. Only TRNC citizens and permanent residents (who have left the TRNC in the last 14 days) in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Denmark and South Africa are permitted to enter the country, provided that they stay in central quarantine for 14 days. Otherwise, those who have visited those countries and are not permanent residents or citizens of the TRNC cannot enter, and other countries’ regulations remain the same.
15. It was decided that funerals would be held with the participation of only first degree relatives.
16. It has been decided that the passage of persons residing in the North and working in Southern Cyprus is subject to quarantine until the next decision. The results of the PCR test made in the last 7 days will be sought for these people’s transition.
17. It has been decided that the passage of persons residing in the South and working in Northern Cyprus will be subject to quarantine until the next decision.
18. It has been decided to continue their education online, considering the curfew of those residing in the North and studying in Southern Cyprus.
19. It has been deemed appropriate for the people residing in the Beyarmudu to make a daily pass without quarantine in order to perform their livestock and agriculture activities in the Buffer Zone and Bases Region.
20. District Police Boards will be authorized to give permission in order to meet and / or eliminate the essential needs that may arise other than the above conditions.
21. Conducting PCR tests and Covid-19 vaccination program will continue as determined and announced by the Ministry of Health.
