Fair organized to support the Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukemia and Fight against Cancer
European University of Lefke (EUL) Centre of Social and Cultural Activities and Psychology Club organized a fair to support the Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukemia and Fight against Cancer under the framework of social responsibility projects. The fair which took place at the EUL Plaza was conducted by the Academician of Science and Literature Faculty Assist. Prof. Dr. Sultan Okumuşoğlu.
Okumuşoğlu: Social responsibility projects are like experiencing a simulation of the responsibilities that the students will undertake in their future life
Giving information about the fair, Okumuşoğlu said that the students of EUL Psychology club established a stand and made sales of the products which had the logo of Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukemia and Fight against Cancer. Pointing out that all of the income obtained from the sales was donated to the Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukemia and Fight against Cancer, Okumuşoğlu said that social responsibility projects are like experiencing a simulation of the responsibilities that the students will undertake in their future life.
Okumuşoğlu expressed that by this means the students had learned how to undertake social responsibility and experience the inner peace of being able to help, on the other hand how to plan and organize them. Pointing out that the fair aimed to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis, hope and support in combating cancer by future psychologists, as well as fund raising for cancer, Okumuşoğlu stated that the EUL Psychology Club aims to conduct similar social responsibility projects in the future.
