7th EUL Psychology Days was held
European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology organized the ‘7. Psychology Days’ was held on 10-11 May 2022.
At the event, After the opening speech of Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Prof. Dr. Saadettin Yıldız, Head of Psychology Department Prof. Dr. Zihniye Okray started the “Psychology Days” event, which is traditionally held at the university and held for the 7th time this year, with her speech on the psychologists day. After the opening speeches, Faculty Member Asst. Prof. Dr. Cemaliye Direktör, ‘Anxiety in Children After the Pandemic’, Lecturer Beliz Köroğlu, ‘Post Trauma Tension Disorder’ and Lecturer Dilem Öke shared their studies on ‘Existential Anxiety’.
Different topics were discussed in Psychology Days
On the second day of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sultan Şehitoğlu, ‘Anxiety and Traumatic Stress in Health Care Workers during the Pandemic Period’, Asst. Prof. Dr. Doğa Eroğlu Şah, ‘Eco-Anxiety’, Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Şah touched upon the issues of “Effects of Eco-Anxiety on Physical and Psychological Health”. After the presentations of the academicians of the European University of Lefke, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sinem Cankardaş Nalbantçılar provided information to university students about the ‘Etiology of Anxiety Disorders’ online, and then Tuğba Yavuz, an officer of the Association for Combating Sexual Violence, made statements about the aims and activities of their association online.
Students did group work on methods of coping with anxiety
On both days of the event, the students presented the academic posters they prepared and did group work with the department teachers on methods of coping with anxiety. With the active participation of the students, it was ensured that the psychology days were enriched with both academic knowledge and social skills. In closing, the department teachers celebrated the world psychologists day after a short music concert with the students and ended the activity that lasted for 2 days.
