“1st Palliative Care Symposium” held in EUL
Palliative Care Discussions on interdisciplinary approaches on creating awareness- have been discussed.
The “1st Palliative Care Multidisciplinary Approach Symposium” was organized by European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Health Sciences. The Symposium held in EUL Faculty of Law Conference Hall had begun with the Dean of Health Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Ruhi Selçuk Tabak’s opening speech.
The symposium was held with the aim of creating a ground in which different disciplines share their perspectives and experiences and to provide a scientific discussion of the educational, practice and goals of the present situation in Turkey and in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus regarding palliative care.
In the symposium, interdisciplinary approaches were discussed for the definition and institutionalization of palliative care, the development of palliative care awareness, the gradual dissemination of palliative care services, the creation of trained and experienced professional teams in the field of palliative care, the benefit of all patients in need of palliative care in Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
A total of 36 notifications were presented, both oral and written, at the symposium which consisted of two days and 8 sessions.
